Removing the wall between the two spaces was a bold decision, but absolutely the right one. The open layout not only maximises the available square footage but also significantly enhances functionality, creating a seamless blend of comfort and elegance — perfect for modern living.

We were mindful of the townhouse’s era and committed to preserving its character. Instead of using small, overly ornate cornices, we opted for a cleaner, more understated version that beautifully complements the newly designed sofa nook. The nook with integrated shelving helps anchor the sofa, creating a beautiful scene and intimate destination within the open-plan space.

A dropped ceiling in a soft, neutral palette subtly highlights the gentle arches and ceiling detailing. The sofa itself strikes a perfect balance between traditional charm and contemporary style — a true timeless classic.

At House of Bo, we have a passion for rugs, knowing the right one can transform a space. In this project, the chosen rug is no exception — we sourced a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that ties the entire scheme together beautifully.
